Cell phone battery caught on fire!!!! HELP!!!?

My stupid brother in law put his water-damaged cell phone battery in the toaster over covered in foil. i didn’t know he put his battery in there until it combusted into flames. The fire didn’t spread too far, just the toaster oven. The air smells really bad and i want to know if lithium or anything in a cell phone battery would be an extream health hazard. PLEASE answer ASAP!

Call poison control – look in the cell phone’s user guide and find out about the battery. It will list all the hazards.
